“No matter how many clothes you have in your wardrobe, you always have nothing to wear!!”
This is a line that every Mom tells her daughter almost everytime we are going through an omg-I-have-nothing-to-wear situation. Yes, we are guilty of forever complaining about never having anything to wear. At times like these we have raided into our sisters’s, best friends’ and cousins’ closets. Haven’t we?
New clothes are a reason we’re excited to get up every morning. Wearing something new everyday or atleast to a new party is every girl’s dream. But the thing is I hate to invest in pricey outfits that I cannot wear multiple times in a year. This is why I buy a lot of classic pieces like basic tees, jeans and trousers that I can easily reach out to all through the year. As much as this is a smart thought, I really miss out on wearing some trends that I would like to try without having to buy them. There are times when I feel like not being myself and donning a leather jacket or a sequin dress because all days and moods are not the same. But spending my buks on buying a single sequin dress? No way! These items in my wardrobe will forever make me feel guilty that I never needed them.
The idea of renting clothes from fashion rental companies crossed my mind a few times since I started blogging. But initially, I was like – “Who rents clothes? So unclassy! I could borrow my friends’ clothes but not rent them from somewhere.” But, hey! If renting clothes allows us to wear something new and try new trends we always wanted to try especially without hurting our pockets, then why not?
After a long debate with my housemates about renting fashion , I decided to give in to this challenge #thatlookrents for renting clothes starting this month. As part of this challenge, for the next few months I am going to rent outfits at least twice each month and I am really excited to see how it goes.
My first go to fashion rental store for #thatlookrents had to be Liberent which is an up and coming fashion rental startup that is based out of Hyderabad. The best part of renting clothes from Liberent was to receive my outfits in a neatly ironed and dry-cleaned state in an impressive gift like box that feels like a privilege.
My personal style is very minimal and casual at the same time. However, I decided to break all my personal style rules and picked something strikingly different to my personality while creating an ensemble for a perfect fall look.
This pleated leather skirt, tan in color is quite a seasonal stand-out and I am so proud that I picked this up for my fall fashion look. While leather is a forever classic in fall trends every year, tan is the color which is creating quite some noise in the fashion weeks.
Apart from the skirt, I didn’t have to put in any thought about creating this look. I paired this leather skirt with a flirty black top from Westside Store. I accessorized my outfit with my favorite dainty gold jewelry.
And what’s fall fashion without some bold lips? The lip color is again by Chambor Extreme Matt Wear Range.

I am looking forward to having a good experience in #thatlookrents with different fashion rental stores across India. I am also curious about what you think about renting clothes from fashion rental companies.
While I am experimenting new trends with this challenge, I know I am not being true to my personal style in this look. But the larger purpose of this experiment is to tell you that renting fashion allows us to try newer trends and break your own fashion rules without having to spend much.
So be a part of #thatlookrents and wear something new every day and try new trends not just inside fitting rooms!
